2 Days safari visiting the Lake Nakuru national park. It is a 3-4 hours’ drive from Nairobi. It is located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx. 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. You will be staying at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge. Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
Pick up in Nairobi Hotel/Airport and Depart for Lake Nakuru at 7.30 am. This will be a 3 hours’ drive. You will have a brief stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point see the spectacular views of Mt Longonot and the expansive floor of the rift valley. On arrival at Lake Nakuru, you proceed to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge for check in. Relax in the lodge as you wait for your lunch. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive at the park to see the hundreds of animals in the park including lion, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, leopard, baboon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Lunch and dinner at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.
Day 2 Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
After breakfast proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park for a full day game drive with packed lunch boxes. We start off around the lake to spot the flamingos, white pelicans, ibis, plovers, storks, herons and many others. Enjoy your game driving until lunch time. Enjoy your picnic lunch as you enjoy the magnificent views from the Makalia waterfalls camping site. Late in the afternoon depart Lake Nakuru national park for Nairobi. Drop off at your Nairobi hotel for check in and overnight stay/at the airport for your outbound flight. Breakfast and Lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.
