Itinerary
Day 1- Nairobi to Aberdares NP
In the morning, we will pick you up at the airport or hotel in our safari vehicle and drive you to Aberdare National Park. The drive is scenic via the central Kenyan highlands, with stopovers to view the tea and coffee plantations. There will be another stop to see and experience the largest open-air market in East Africa at Karatina. Aberdare National Park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffaloes, warthogs and bushbucks, among others. Rare sightings include those of the giant forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 2 - Aberdare NP to Samburu NR
After breakfast, we depart to Samburu Game Reserve for an afternoon game drive. This reserve is one of the most beautiful Kenyan Parks in the Northern Circuit. It is home to the most indigenous wildlife, as well as the African elephant, the beautiful Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and the reticulated giraffe. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 3 - Full Day Samburu NR
The entire day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve. The park is not populated with few visitors coming here, ideal for relaxing and refreshing your mind. It is home to the Big Five (elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo), as well as gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, endangered wild dog, as well the endangered pancake tortoise. There are over 450 species of birds identified (aquatic species in the Waso Nyiro River included), such as vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowls, Somali ostriches and others. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 4 - Samburu NR to Lake Nakuru NP
After breakfast, we depart to Lake Nakuru National Park. Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the Rift Valley's most famous lake, Lake Nakuru. This alkaline lake is known worldwide for its flamingos and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Although Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, the flamingos have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. Arrive in time for lunch, then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 5 - Lake Nakuru NP to Masai Mara NR
Go on an early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. It is one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebra and stalking predators. Arrive in time for lunch, then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 6 - Full day at Masai Mara NR
After breakfast, we have a full-day game drive ahead, with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is well-known for its black-maned lions, as well as its abundant resident wildlife. It is one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one's vehicle, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded, among these 16 species of eagles, many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Day 7 - Transfer back to Nairobi
Wake up to the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush this morning. Go on a final game drive in the Mara. Depart late in the morning to Nairobi, with lunch en-route. You will arrive at approximately 5 pm.
We understand the importance of great relationships, and that's why we have been cultivating ours on the continent for over decades.
From the very first inquiry email to my departure from Nairobi, Silas and his team at Safari Update Travels could not have been more supportive and friendly. I was met at the airport, delivered to the hotel and throughout the 3 day safari the driver, accommodation and food were superb.

I had an amazing experience in Masai Masa. I booked my Masai Mara 3 day 2 night package from Safari Update Travels. My point of contact was Silas who has always been available to answer all my queries. He is easily reachable. He had assigned to us tour guide Jack who did a brilliant job as we witnessed all big fives.

What a fantastic experience and trip Silas and the Safari Updates team organized. They are skilled, competent, and incredibly diligent. He accomplished our goal of taking safaris in both Kenya and Tanzania over the course of six days. Despite having made our booking for Kilimanjaro with a different Firm, he assisted us and remained in touch with us to see how we were doing.

I and my family went on a 7-day trip to Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and to Masai Mara. Amboseli had the most amazing heart of elephants, as well as a spectacular view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are plenty of animals at Lake Nakuru... lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffe, buffalo.

The agent Xavier is very social and clear in his communication. We had a really great experience in Masai Mara. We enjoyed the game drives, and Martin was an excellent driver and guide. Very knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions that we had. The accommodation in jambo mara was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
