Description
A 9 Days safari visiting the Tsavo East National Park, Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Samburu National Reserve Reserve. Tsavo East National Park is a 4-5 hours’ drive from Nairobi and 1-2 hours if you opt for a train. Tsavo East makes for an adventure like no other with the 300-kilometer-long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world.
This along with the sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species. Tsavo West National Park is a beautiful, rugged wilderness, from the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of from the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows.
The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher's Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and wildlife include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.
Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya's most popular parks. It is crowned by the breathtaking scenery of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust”. The park is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro.
Animal species seen include elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. The birds seen here include pelican, bee eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle and pygmy falcon. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with Sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. You can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to Kenya’s largest population of Black Rhino, large numbers of elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard, African wild dog and plentiful plains game. There are also a number of the rarer Northern species such as Grevys Zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest and Beisa Oryx. The conservancy lies on the Equator and affords wonderful views of Mt Kenya. Ol Pejeta Conservancy also permits night game drives which focus on species not seen on regular day drives.
Samburu National Reserve, one of the famous safari destinations in East Africa. It is located in the Northern part of Kenya on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river. Samburu National Reserve is a haven for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grevy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich. It is also home to Elephants, Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. Birds are also common in the reserve with over 450 species.

Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi To Tsavo East National Park
Pick up in Nairobi Hotel/Airport and Depart for Tsavo East National Park at 7.00 am. This will be a 4 -5 hours’ drive. You will have a brief stopover at Emali town for a health break and a little stretch. You can also opt for a train from Nairobi to Emali. On arrival you will be picked from the Emali station and proceed to Tsavo East National Park. We arrive at our lodge just in time for lunch and check in. An afternoon game drive in the park is planned. Tsavo East National Park is famously known for its dust-covered red elephants and maneless lions. Tsavo East National Park offer magical wild experience of watching different wildlife species on game viewing safaris. In the evening you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge.
Day 2 Full Day Tsavo East National Park
On this day you will wake up early for a morning game drive then return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast depart the lodge with packed lunch boxes for more adventure. On this day you will spot animals living and watched in Tsavo East National Park including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and many more. You will have a pleasure of watching these animals and the amazing landscape of the park. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge.
Day 3 Tsavo East National Park Tsavo West National Park
We depart for Tsavo West National Park at 7.00 am. We arrive at our lodge just in time for lunch and check in. An afternoon game drive in the park is planned. Tsavo West National Park is a vast expansion of the African Savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi-desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It is famous for the red elephants, Oryx and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and birdlife. On this safari you get to enjoy sights of the big five such as lions, elephants, Cape buffalo, leopards, eastern black rhinoceros and many more. As you drive through the plains of the park you encounter many animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests and many more. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight At Salt Lick Safari Lodge/ Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 4 Tsavo West National Park To Amboseli National Park
We depart for Amboseli National Park at 7.00 am. We arrive in Amboseli lodge just in time for check in and lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park is planned, a park famous for its big game and great scenic beauty whose entire landscape is dominated by Mt Kilimanjaro. You are likely to spot elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. In the evening you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Oltukai Lodge/Amboseli Sopa Lodge/Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.
Day 5 Full Day Amboseli National Park
Full day at the Amboseli National Park for the morning and afternoon game drive. Early morning game drive and return to your lodge for breakfast. After breakfast depart with packed lunch boxes for more adventure. On this day you are likely to spot the birds like pelican, bee eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle and pygmy falcon. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with Sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. You can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture. Day 6 Amboseli National Park To Ol Pejeta Conservancy
We depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy at 7.00 am. Arrive at the camp in the afternoon for check in and lunch. Later we visit the Ol Pejeta Conservancy situated West of Nanyuki for a late afternoon game drive. You will have a chance to see chimpanzees and other wild animals in the parts of the conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts of the largest black rhino in East Africa and houses two of the remaining Northern white rhinos in the world. You may be able to see a variety of animals like buffalo, giraffe, and zebra and plains game during the game drive. Drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.
Day 7 Ol Pejeta Conservancy To Samburu National Reserve
We depart our camp for Samburu. There will be an enroute stop over to view Mount Kenya with its Snow-capped peaks. Arrive at the camp/lodge just in time for check in and lunch. Embark on your first game drive in the afternoon with a chance of spotting the Grevy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich, Elephants, Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. Later in the evening drive back to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Lunch and dinner at Camp/lodge.
Day 8 Full Day Samburu National Reserve
Early morning game drive before returning to the camp/lodge for breakfast. After breakfast embark on a full day game drive with packed lunch boxes. This shall be a full day of unlimited wildlife viewing. Possible sightings of unique wildlife species like Oryx, Gerenuk, Gravy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich and other wild animals’ peculiar to this semi-arid region. Your game drives will be along Ewaso Nyiro river where most of the wild animals are found. You will also be able to watch different species of birds found in the reserve. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.
Day 9 Samburu National Reserve To Nairobi
After breakfast drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival you will have late lunch at the famous carnivore restaurant then later on dropped off at your hotel/Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to board your flight back home. Breakfast at Camp/Lodge. And Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.
