Overview

Kenya, a land of breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and vibrant culture, beckons travellers year-round. However, understanding the Best Time To Visit Kenya can significantly enhance your safari experience. With diverse ecosystems and a wealth of wildlife, the optimal time for your adventure depends on your interests. Here's a guide to help you plan your Kenyan journey:

The Great Migration (July to October):

For wildlife enthusiasts, especially those keen on witnessing the dramatic Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras, this is the prime time. The Mara River crossings are iconic, as thousands of animals attempt to traverse this crocodile-infested river.

Dry Season (June to October):

Kenya's dry season is a fantastic time for wildlife viewing. With little rainfall and sparse vegetation, animals gather around water sources, offering excellent visibility during game drives. The weather is pleasant, making it a popular time for safaris.

Shoulder Seasons (November to March and June):

Shoulder seasons are considered the best time to visit Kenya. The country is lush and green, and the wildlife is still active. These months offer a perfect blend of wildlife viewing and comfortable weather.

Birdwatching (November to April):

Kenya is a haven for birdwatchers, and the birdlife is particularly active during the wetter months. You'll have the chance to spot migratory birds that flock to the region during this time.

Climbing Mount Kenya (January to February and August to September):

If conquering peaks is your passion, these months are ideal for climbing Mount Kenya. The weather is clearest, with the least rainfall, providing the best climbing conditions.

Beach Vacations (December to March and July to September):

Kenya's idyllic coastal areas, like Diani Beach and Malindi, are perfect for relaxation and water sports during the dry seasons. Snorkelling, diving, and water excursions are popular.

Finally, the Best Time To Visit Kenya truly depends on your interests and the experiences you seek. Whether you're eager to witness the Great Migration, explore the country's vibrant cultures, or indulge in thrilling outdoor adventures, Kenya offers something extraordinary every month of the year. Plan your Kenya Safari to match your desires and savour the magic of this incredible destination.

We understand the importance of great relationships, and that's why we have been cultivating ours on the continent for over decades.

From the very first inquiry email to my departure from Nairobi, Silas and his team at Safari Update Travels could not have been more supportive and friendly. I was met at the airport, delivered to the hotel and throughout the 3 day safari the driver, accommodation and food were superb.

I had an amazing experience in Masai Masa. I booked my Masai Mara 3 day 2 night package from Safari Update Travels. My point of contact was Silas who has always been available to answer all my queries. He is easily reachable. He had assigned to us tour guide Jack who did a brilliant job as we witnessed all big fives.

What a fantastic experience and trip Silas and the Safari Updates team organized. They are skilled, competent, and incredibly diligent. He accomplished our goal of taking safaris in both Kenya and Tanzania over the course of six days. Despite having made our booking for Kilimanjaro with a different Firm, he assisted us and remained in touch with us to see how we were doing.

I and my family went on a 7-day trip to Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and to Masai Mara. Amboseli had the most amazing heart of elephants, as well as a spectacular view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are plenty of animals at Lake Nakuru... lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffe, buffalo.

The agent Xavier is very social and clear in his communication. We had a really great experience in Masai Mara. We enjoyed the game drives, and Martin was an excellent driver and guide. Very knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions that we had. The accommodation in jambo mara was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
