Our Story
Safari, Built by People Who Live It
We're a Nairobi-based, TRA-registered team of guides, drivers and planners who've spent our careers reading these landscapes — so every itinerary we build reflects where the wildlife actually is, not a printed brochure schedule.
Who We Are
A Nairobi Team, Built Around the Bush
Safari Update Travels started with a simple frustration: too many safaris were sold off a fixed template — same camps, same routes, same three days in the Mara — regardless of what the migration or the season was actually doing that month.
That frustration came from firsthand experience. Our founding guides had spent years driving for larger outfits, watching bookings get locked in months before a single game drive — and watching guests leave the Mara having missed a river crossing that happened two valleys over, on a day the printed schedule simply had no room for a detour.
We built our company the other way around. Our guides and planners track wildlife movement daily, and every itinerary is shaped around those real-time conditions rather than a schedule printed a year in advance. It means longer game drives when the sightings are good, and routes that shift when the herds do.
Today that philosophy runs through everything we do — from our TRA registration and vetted camp network, to the guides who've spent 15+ years reading these same plains. We're still a Kenyan-owned, Nairobi-based team, and we still believe the best safari is the one built around what's actually happening in the bush, not what's on a form.
That's still how we plan today. Every enquiry starts as a conversation, not a form — dates, pace, budget and the kind of experience you're after — and the itinerary that comes back is drafted specifically for you, refined as many times as it takes before a single deposit is paid.

What We Stand For
Our Mission & Values
Six principles that shape every itinerary we design, from a weekend in Amboseli to a month across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.
Wildlife First
Routes are built around real animal movement and daily sightings — never a fixed schedule that ignores the season.
Responsible Tourism
We work only with conservancies and camps that reinvest in habitat protection and local communities.
Local Expertise
Every guide is Kenyan or Tanzanian, TRA-certified, and has spent years reading the exact parks we operate in.
Traveller Care
A single coordinator from first enquiry to your homeward flight, backed by a 24/7 support line in the field.
Where We Operate
One team covering Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda — the same standard of vetted camps, guiding and support wherever your route crosses a border.
Flexible by Design
Itineraries stay adjustable right up to your deposit — swap camps, add days, or shift the pace as your plans take shape.
