Budget Guide
A combined Kenya and Tanzania safari typically costs more per day than a single country trip, you're covering two park fee structures, a border crossing and often an extra travel day or two. Expect budget combined routes from around $220-300 per person per day, mid range $300-500, and luxury from $550 upward, with Tanzania's Serengeti and Ngorongoro fees generally running higher than Kenya's Mara conservancy fees. When to Travel
July through October is the classic window, the migration's river crossings are underway in the Maasai Mara and the southern Serengeti's dry season game viewing is at its best on both sides of the border. December to March swaps drama for calm: calving season fills the southern Serengeti and Ndutu with newborn wildebeest and predators, while the Mara itself is quieter and greener.
