Why We Only Run Land Cruisers
We don’t mix fleets. Every Safari Update game drive — Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Amboseli — runs in the same vehicle: a diesel 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser, built specifically for East African safari duty. It’s the vehicle every serious operator in the region standardises on, for one simple reason — nothing else survives a full season of black-cotton mud, volcanic scree and washed-out river crossings without breaking down at the worst possible moment.
That consistency matters beyond mechanics. Because our guides drive the same vehicle every single day, they know exactly how it handles a soft riverbank or a steep crater descent — judgement that only comes from familiarity, not a rental-fleet gamble.
